It's a precious little botanical garden! I was passing through the street and I went there to take a break. Everything was so peaceful and relaxing. I enjoyed a little fountain at the entrance and this big old tree for a fun photo.
I totally recommend going there, especially when there aren't any contractions going on.
Very lovely botanical garden in the university of Bologna. Was very impressed with the lovely selection, maintenance and upkeep of the place. I was here in the spring so check the time to see when it’s open. It was a nice little visit. And there’s lots to do and see in and around this area.
Very nice garden to wander around and see all the different specimens they have collected from all over the world. It has a very wild and unkempt feel to it, and is a nice little getaway from the city centre. There are several greenhouses on the grounds but at the time of my visit, we could only access one.
Judging by the many beautiful pictures from a few years ago, the garden must have been poorly maintained the past year or two. Attached just one example, a picture of the rock garden, hard to see any of the rock plants in between the weeds. In general many plant labels missing, or unreadable. A sign at the entrance mentions a renovation project so hopefully it will look better in the future. Still nice to go, because of all the greenery, but not the interesting experience I hoped for. Wear long clothes and use mosquito repellent otherwise you'll be bitten to death; we had to hurriedly leave as it became unbearable.
Open 1st April - 30 September Tuesday-Sunday and holidays 10:00-16:00. The gardens are free to enter. The greenhouses you can not visit but these greenhouses are used by the university students. The gardens are small but well worth a visit. There is a pond in the gardens. If you stand near the pond and listen you will see and hear the frogs. They are very noisy. You will also lizards around the pond and the garden. Many people can be found sitting relaxing in the gardens.
Surprisingly nice experience in the Botanical garden. Even if it's not very groomed, the fresh flowers, pretty smells, the birds singing, offered us a wonderful stop in our walking to the hotel. The greenhouse (free entrance) has papaya trees, cocoa trees, coconut plants - amazing nice ...
Very nice green site in the middle of the city Bologna.
You walk in the park and also get information about plants.
Recommended for nature loves. Visit this place with children.)))
The botanical gardens are a little un cared for but offer an oasis of green, and in 35 heat, we for the shade cooler. Sat and read a book.. Good wander, but not much education to see.
